Description:
Our blood tests for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) are a comprehensive tool designed to help in the diagnosis, monitoring, and progression of this autoimmune disorder. RA is a chronic condition that affects millions of people worldwide, and early detection and treatment are critical to managing its symptoms and preventing joint damage. Rheumatoid arthritis blood tests are a reliable and accurate way to measure the levels of key biomarkers such as Rheumatoid factor (RF) and antinuclear antibodies (ANA), which can help monitor the progression of RA and the effectiveness of the treatments used to manage the condition. These antibodies are produced by the immune system and can cause inflammation and damage to the synovial membrane that lines the joints, leading to pain, swelling, and stiffness.
Includes:
Rheumatoid Factor (RA) ANA Screen IFA w/ Ref to Titer and Pattern If ANA Screen, IFA is positive, ANA Titer and Pattern will be performed. Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV and Differential (Absolute and Percent - Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, and Basophils) Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR ): Albumin, Albumin/Globulin Ratio (calculated), Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, BUN/Creatinine Ratio (calculated), Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine with GFR Estimated, Globulin (calculated), Glucose, Potassium, Sodium, Total Bilirubin, Total Protein, Urea Nitrogen Sedimentation Rate, Modified Westergren C-Reactive Protein (CRP), High Sensitivity (Cardiac Risk Assessment)
Patient Instructions:
You should fast for 12 hours before collection of the specimen. Fasting is defined as no consumption of food or beverage other than water for at least 12 hours before testing. Estimated turnaround for results is 4 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.

Description:
Autoimmune conditions affect millions of people worldwide. These disorders happen when the immune system attacks healthy cells and tissues, mistaking them for harmful invaders. There are more than 80 autoimmune conditions, and they can affect various organs or body parts, causing mild to severe symptoms. Diagnosing autoimmune disorders is a challenge because symptoms can be nonspecific and can vary widely from person to person. Additionally, many autoimmune conditions share similar symptoms, making it difficult to distinguish between them. An autoimmune blood test can, however, help narrow down a diagnosis. Our blood tests for autoimmune disease can be useful when diagnosing and monitoring these types of disorders.

Description:
Detection of antibodies to gliadin, one of the major protein components of gluten, is a sensitive assay useful in diagnosing celiac disease. However, gliadin antibodies may be found in individuals without celiac disease; thus gliadin antibody assays are less specific than assays measuring antibodies to endomysium and transglutaminase. Recent work has revealed that gliadin-reactive antibodies from celiac patients bind to a very limited number of specific epitopes on the gliadin molecule. Further, deamidation of gliadin results in enhanced binding of gliadin antibodies. Based on this information, assays using deamidated gliadin peptides bearing the celiac-specific epitopes have much higher diagnostic accuracy for celiac disease when compared to standard gliadin antibody assays.
Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
